On Wednesday evening, June 11, 2025, I had the honor of standing in the Herndon Town Council Chambers as Mayor Keven LeBlanc issued a Proclamation in Recognition of Pride Month. The mayor graciously invited me to speak on behalf of our Dulles Triangles community, and I was proud to share a message of inclusion, celebration, and visibility.
Here’s what I said:
Good evening, Mayor and Councilmembers,
My name is Charles Hall, and I’m honored to speak tonight on behalf of Dulles Triangles, a vibrant LGBTQ+ social group serving Northern Virginia. We connect more than 1,500 members through a thriving community built on support, inclusion, and joy.
Thank you for issuing this Pride Proclamation. It sends a powerful message—not just to those of us here tonight, but to every young person in Herndon who may be wondering if this town has a place for them. It does.
At Dulles Triangles, we believe that finding your tribe is more than a motto—it’s a lifeline.
We host over 200 events a year, including more than 50 Thursday night dinners, many held right here in Herndon. Each dinner brings together 15 to 20 LGBTQ+ members and allies, offering a weekly space to connect, feel safe, and simply be ourselves.
Our weekly happy hours, monthly brunches, and community events welcome everyone—from those newly coming out to longtime members of our LGBTQ+ family. And we are especially proud to support our transgender and non-binary friends, who remain at the heart of our mission of inclusion.
In a time when LGBTQ+ rights are under scrutiny across the country, proclamations like this matter. They are not just symbolic—they affirm the dignity, worth, and belonging of every LGBTQ+ person who calls Herndon home.
Thank you for helping make Herndon a place where all people can thrive.
